Ride Schedule 2011-12
Please check this page often as all rides and dates are subject to change and ride information is often updated on short notice.
- GSSA Trail Riders start organized trail rides in early January. Please check this page often for updates.
- Trail rides will take place every two weeks, depending on weather conditions. A Trail Ride will be held if the weather forecast is for Sunday is -25 C or warmer. The weather forecast will be reviewed Thursday evening and an email will be sent out confirming whether or not a ride will take place. If weather conditions are not suitable the ride will be rescheduled for the following Sunday.
- Trail rides are organized on Sundays. We will meet at Pier One on Yellowknife Bay near the city boat launch off Weaver Drive at 10:00AM and depart at 10:30 AM. We will stop for lunch on the trail and return to YK between 3 and 4 PM.
- The trail ride route will be announced when the trail ride is confirmed. If it is determined that the trail is not safe due to overflow or poor ice conditions the route will be revised prior to departure.
- Riders should bring a lunch and something warm to drink as well as a full tank of gas and a full oil reservoir. Trail rides are usually less than 100 km so extra fuel is not required.
- Appropriate clothing for the temperatures anticipated should be worn and helmets are to be worn by all riders.
- Alcoholic beverages are not allowed on club trail rides.
